The Tasmanian Auditor General is investigating an apparent cover-up about how millions in federal funds were spent on Tasmanian election donations.

The independent agency’s head of election finance, David Kupferman, has also been charged with a potential breach of electoral law for failing to report allegations of potential election fraud and for withholding documents from the Tasmanian Electoral Commission (TEC).

The agency was set up to ensure political donations and donations over $1000 were reported by the Tasmanian Government and local officials.

It is expected to launch an investigation into how the agency handled allegations of money laundering and kickbacks between 2006 and 2010, after the Tasmanian Greens accused the TEC of failing to register the allegations of election donation fraud.

Mr Kupferman also appears in court on Friday charged with failing to comply with a notice of breach issued by the TEC after receiving an anonymous tip, a process he says is required to identify and report alleged election campaign finance breaches.

The Australian Electoral Commission says all donations above $2000 should be reported online by December 1.

The Electoral Commission also says anyone with concerns about the integrity of an official election or donor list should get in touch with it.

Tasmanian Premier Will Hodgman and the Minister for Community Services h바카라사이트ave both made the allegations against Mr Kupferman.

The charges relate t바카라o the TEC’s receipt of an anonymous tip from someone concerned about a breach of electoral law that involved a $1,000 donor.

Mr Kupferman has refused to give evidence or give evidence to the Tasmani바카라an Parliament during the investigation.
